I have some really great friends who do really cool things…
And, (because I love to brag on my friends) I thought I’d start sharing some of them with you! Maybe you already know them & maybe you’ll discover some cool sites and learn some fun things about new people. Either way, I just had to start off with the one and only Laura Busby (aka Buzz). Firstly, she’s just plain awesome. Second, She helped me get this little adventure that I call bethdotolo.com up on the world wide web so I had to give her a little link love. Meet Laura…

What Laura Does
Laura does it all… no, really. She’s has two blogs: Something Legit (a hip men’s fashion blog) & OneFortyFivePM (Laura’s visual rambling of fashion, people, & beauty). She is the bass player in a pretty freaking awesome band with her brother & friend, called The Black Frames (seriously, watch this music video). Oh, and she has a day job! She manages the e-commerce & social media for one of my very favorite bedding companies in Dallas, Peacock Alley!
How We Know Each Other
It was 2008. I met Laura while working together for a company (not to be named) in Dallas. We became fast friends (especially after crying together watching Obama’s Inauguration). After a quick chat about our childhood, we soon realized that Laura went to high school with my little sister in a small town outside of Philly! How crazy is that?!? Laura and I have since moved on to way bigger & better things, but she still remains one of my favorite people…
5 Reasons Why Laura is One of My Favorite People
1. Laura speaks in abbreviations. It took me a long time to understand half of her sentences, but once you speak ‘Buzz’ you feel 10 times cooler. (for the record, I still don’t understand a good portion of what she says. I just nod, laugh, and change the subject back to me.)
2. Laura really loves her friends. She is super supportive & always genuinely interested. Laura has a ‘servants heart’ (as she calls it). I can’t tell you how many times Laura has come through for me… a website here, a cup of coffee there.
3. Laura has a serious eye for style & creativity… just look at her blogs to see for yourself.
4. We’re both Philly girls.
5. Laura is the ebony to my ivory.

I can’t end the introduction without sharing this video (by the awesome C1 Entertainment). Remember when I said Laura loves her friends… She and her friends put this legit video together for her best friend’s 30th birthday to surprise her with a trip to NYC. Seriously. Rockstars. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched this… I laugh every. single. time.
I hope you love Laura as much as I do… And, Buzz, thank you for all your help getting this site up for me so I could make it pretty. Much love.
